Sizing Chart
As a general rule, 90% of cats need a Medium Size (M-L)
To ensure the best fit, measure the girth of your cat around the ribcage.
Size Chart:
- (M-L) - between 11-20in (28-51cm)
- (XL) - more than 21in (+51cm)
Only very large cats like Maine Coons or obese cats will need the XL.

MARTINGALE CAT HARNESS
Cats are escape artists and can get out of almost any harness if they want to. A combination of skill and a good harness is key to keeping your cat safe.
The Always On cat harness by OutdoorBengal features a martingale system that makes it harder for the cat to pull backward, the most common way cats escape from their harnesses.
There are 3 things you can do to stop a cat from escaping a harness:
- Use a harness that your cat is comfortable wearing.
- Prevent your cat from pulling backward and keep the leash consistently tugging toward the cat's tail within the "SAFE ZONE" range.
- Train your cat to walk on a leash so that they don't find the need to escape.

What's the difference between the Always On™ and the Houdini™?
The Houdini™ is the staple harness; it’s super secure, comfortable, and has been refined about 10 times since I first designed it. It’s a trusted design that cats love wearing and can’t escape from (very hard to).
The Houdini™, however, has a dangling part that can be uncomfortable for the cat if the harness is on and not attached to a leash. That’s where the Always On™ comes into play. It has a different escape-resistant mechanism that makes it hard for cats to escape — no dangling parts.

Can I use this harness to tether my cat?
No. The Houdini™ harness has been designed for walking cats safely. Its escape-proof mechanism tightens around the neck if a cat tries to escape.
This safety feature is crucial to avoid escapes, but can be dangerous if the cat is left unattended.
Never leave your cat alone while wearing a Houdini™ harness.
Is this Harness only for Bengal cats?
This harness was designed for all cats, but the name of the brand was inspired by my cat Mia, a bengal cat. The harness fits and works the exact same on any cat breed.
Is it hard to train a cat to walk on a leash?
Every cat can learn to walk on a leash. The time it takes for them to thrive outdoors varies depending on factors like age, socialization, and personality.

Will this harness work on a kitten?
Yes, the S size has been specifically designed for kittens. Check your cat's girth to know what size will offer the best fit for your kitten.
Is this a good harness for large cats?
This harness is very light, for cats that are starting and cats that need more freedom and confort.
If your cat is overweight, make sure to measure the girth of your cat and ensure that the size you choose is the right fit.
The Large harness (L size) has been reinforced to support the weight and strength of a larger cat.
Does the cat harness come with a leash?
Yes, the escape-proof cat harness comes with a 6ft long leash.
How easy is to put on the harness on a cat?
Putting the Outdoor Bengal cat harness on your furry friend will be easy.
There are 2 ways to go about it:
- Teach your cat to sit and stay, then put the harness on.
- Holding the cat between your ribs and your elbow sitting on a sofa and using your free hands to put the harness on.

Absolutely love this harness!
Mochi seems so much more comfortable in it than his previous one. It’s a lot less restrictive, so he can move around much more freely and doesn’t get as hot. He was even purring the first time he tried it on, so he definitely didn’t seem to mind.
He’s just shy of 16 lbs, the adjustability is great and the harness fits him snug like a bug. Color is great (yellow). Delivery arrived on time and in good condition. He doesn't tug often but when he did, we stopped him from running into the do not enter part of the woods a lot better than the previous harness we had. He wasn't going anywhere with this.
Amazing all around!!! This will be the one and only harness I recommend anytime someone asks me if I know a good cat harness!

Just received this harness today and love it! She’s a little chunky but it fits perfectly and is adjustable which is amazing, it fits snuggly and since it doesn’t go around her neck I’m not worried of her accidentally getting strangled, plus she can’t escape from it by backing out. The bright colours are amazing so I can spot where she is, she looks comfortable in it straight away and doesn’t flop and roll around to try to get it off like other thicker body harnesses. Super happy with this harness!

I’ve purchased atleast 6 kitty harnesses from other companies. This is the only one worth the money on the market. I have both color ways and they both look sharp! Winston is ready to go right when I put it on!

Sage the Bengal Cat never hesitates to let me put this on her when we go out. She loves it and will attest to it being way more comfortable than the original Houdini Harness because the Houdini's adjstment 'lead' frequently bounced in her face without a leash attatched to it. We seldom use the Houdini since purchasing the Always On Martingale Harness.
I was worried because the Martingale Harness is a more loose fitting harness, that it would slide off her shoulders... Happily, it does not.
We love, love, love this harness!

Mila always felt constrained in every other harness I tried but she’s totally relaxed in the always on martingale one. It looks very comfortable on her and when I pull the leash it tightens enough to make her understand she needs to stop. Awesome product!

The yellow color is incredibly bright, so bright that my camera struggles to capture it properly sometimes, which is actually amazing for our walks in low light. Poppy seems really comfortable in it, and the quality feels fantastic. Can’t wait to use it on many more adventures together!

Roger was an outdoor free range kinda guy until he had a bad outcome playing hide and seek in front of a lawnmower. Now he’s is a very stylish and surprisingly well behaved harness cat. He loves this Martingale because it is comfortable enough to nap in, but tightens up a bit when his human wants him to go in a different direction. We like it so much we are buying one for his brother. Only gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the fabric starts to fray at the edges. Other than that, very well made.

This harness is everything I wanted for my cat. Light and confortable, he isn’t bother by it as he can be with larger and bulky harnesses. With the previous harnesses, he used to be easily scared when the leash would stop him, but not anymore with this new one. I love the escape-proof mechanism, frankly, I love everything about this harness, A lady at the parc already bought hers after seeing it on my cat!

First of all, it arrived super fast. Also, it's so well made and does what is meant to do. I ordered one to check sizing. The m/l is a touch too big for my 9 month old now but it still works and he has room to grow. I will order another of the same size for my 12lb boy. I like that they are minimal and not bulky but also holds on to them when needed. They both adjusted to it really quickly.

I like this harness because it’s lightweight and simple and my kitty cats hardly notice it. They haven’t been able to back out of it, so it’s a winner. I don’t mind leaving it on them all day.

My cats are 3-4 years old and new to harness training. I first tried the velcro/vest type and the cats just acted depressed when I put them on. With these martingale harnesses it took them a week or two to get used to using their full range of motion in them (it was pretty funny watching them figure out how to jump with them on), but they now feel at ease in them. They don’t like when the harness goes over their head but they come when I call them to “put on the harness and go outside” so I figure we’re doing alright.
I have had two instances where my cat spooked and dashed away, but the harness did as advertised: it gave me an extra 10 seconds to grab her before she could even start to get it off. I feel secure using these after experiencing them in action. They are fairly easy to adjust and I though I did feel insecure at first with my own inexpertise, they have worked great. My cats each weigh 10-10.5 pounds and fit in the M-L size easily.
My only recommendation: more colors!

Love this!! My cat has had a fair few harnesses and the only thing that put me off this initially was that it was in the US.
Now she has it, she loves it.! She springs around in it, loves to put it on because she knows she heading out for an adventure and most importantly, doesnt seem to be able to escape it (even though she’s tried the backward wiggle!)

It's a process adapting to a harness for Mr Orange - and dad too. Mr Orange is approx. 10 months old and still adapting to being adopted several months ago. Overall harness is bright & does a good job. Mr Orange likes to explore fenced swimming pool area dragging leash with him, chasing anything that flies, climbing evergreen privacy trees and being King of the jungle - as we explore more.

Couldn’t be happier with this harness, I wish we had started with it instead of trying four others first. My cat instantly showed improved confidence outside, the biggest leap in his training in three years! He is now asking to go out more often and spooking less on the leash than he did with more restrictive harnesses. It’s great to see.

The harness is of good quality, theres a chess pad that ensures the harness sits comfortably on your cats body.
Mia is still walking a bit weird when I put the harness on but she generally is able to move.
I think the part over the shoulders could be better adjusted as I still see she's hesitant to jump or make bigger moves but will keep checking, if it has to do with the size and adjusting it.

Unfortunately my cat become like a rock in this harness, she doesnt want to move at all. Although in previous harness with different design, she is walking freely. I tried to gave her time to adapt, but no success. Very sad, i was waiting for this to be more comfortable alternative, but somehow looks like its opposite.
In terms of quality, it is good.
